DofE Expedition Services for Schools, Groups & Individuals
DofE Expedition Services from Mountain Water Expeditions, is a DofE Approved Activity Expedition Provider (AAP).
We offer a complete expedition package at Bronze, Silver and Gold level of the DofE Award, which takes young people through the mandatory stages for training and assessment in the expedition section. We will organise and lead everything for you so that your young people have an enjoyable, safe experience.
This provides an opportunity for young people and their parents/carers to meet with some of the Mountain Water Expeditions team and learn more about the expedition section.
This can be delivered at your location or at an agreed venue and covers all aspects of the Expedition Training Framework as laid down by the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award including; route planning, first aid, camp cooking, personal equipment, rucksack packing and tent building.
This is an opportunity for the young people involved to practice all the skills learnt on their Expedition Training. The duration and the location of the practice depend upon the level of the award being undertaken. All practice expeditions will be led by a qualified expedition leader who will respond to the needs of individuals and the group as a whole to support them in developing their initial skills further, so we are secure they have the required skills and motivation to complete their qualifying expedition.
Designed to plan and prepare young people for the qualifying expedition, this day is a standard part of Gold level package but available as an additional service for Bronze & Silver levels.
This is the assessed element of the expedition section of the award. Your young people will follow the route they have planned and will apply their training and experience to date. Our leaders will supervise them remotely and our accredited assessors will assess the teams and de-brief them at the end.
